VALONGO BLACK™ Slate has become one of the most sought-after building materials in today's homes due to its smooth, satin texture and durability. The appearance and composition offer a warm aesthetic to any room; whether the architectural theme is modern or rustic.

Unlike other black stones, VALONGO BLACK™ slate is low in porosity; exhibits very little grain, and won't show stains or fingerprints. Its uniqueness, durability, and strength make it a great choice for kitchen counter tops, bath vanities, and floor tile. With an optional cleft or honed finish.

VALONGO BLACK™ is suitable for any design. To compliment your counter top, we also offer solid block sinks, shower pans, and custom bathtubs.

VALONGO BLACK™ cleft slate is also known as ‘natural slate’. It has a rough, textured, and inconsistent surface. 

VALONGO BLACK™ slate's resistance to acids gives it exceptional stability and durability.

VALONGO BLACK™ honed slabs show interesting characteristics of Fools Gold (Pyrite), with small off white, gold or black markings and an occasional larger marking, which adds graceful character.

For exterior or interior floors and walls, we recommend Sikagard-740 W, https://usa.sika.com/en/construction/repair-protection/coatings-water-repellents/silane-siloxane-coatings/sikagard-740-w.html or equivalent.

*Thicker Slabs or cut to size over 5 cm may eventually open or show fissure lines on the edge. This is not a defect, but a characteristic of slate.
